Faith Tree Press began at bedtime.
As a young father with two small boys, I wanted our evenings to end with something that mattered. Not just a story — though stories are powerful — but a routine that wove together the things I believed were most important: reading together, pausing to pray, and closing the night by thinking about everything we had to be grateful for. Book. Prayer. Gratitude. That rhythm became the heartbeat of our family's evenings, and I didn't want to let go of it.
What I kept running into was a gap. As my boys grew, I wanted books that grew with them — books at exactly the right reading level, books that challenged them just enough to build real confidence, but that also carried something worth reading about. Stories rooted in our Catholic faith. Stories from Scripture, from the lives of the saints, from the virtues we were trying to live out as a family. I wanted books that belonged in that bedtime routine — books that ended with a prayer we could say together and a moment to think about what we were thankful for.
Faith Tree Press is also, honestly, part of my own faith journey. I am grateful to my wife, whose deep and steady devotion to the faith was the first thing that truly inspired me to pursue a deeper understanding of my own. Building this brand has continued that journey — deepening my understanding of Scripture, of the saints, of what the Catholic faith actually teaches and why it is so beautiful. Creating these books has been a way of growing — of sitting with these stories long enough to understand them more fully, and then finding language simple enough to give them to a child.
My hope is that Faith Tree Press serves other families the way I wished it could have served mine — giving parents and children a shared reading experience that is also a shared faith experience, and leaving every child with a little more confidence, a little more wonder, and a grateful heart at the end of the day.
